Alexander County police have recently uncovered two separate meth labs in North Carolina homes, and eight people are being charged with felonies.  One of the labs was located in close proximity to a middle school.  Police have been able to obtain search warrants for both residences, and have gathered evidence of meth production at both homes.

The charges include possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance.  Further, the people involved in the methamphetamine lab near the school have been charged with manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 of a school.
