Three people have been arrested in Burke County after they led police on a high-speed pursuit. The incident happened after police received a tip that there was a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot. The vehicle ran from police when police tried to stop it, traveling up to 84 mph. The vehicle eventually wrecked on I-40.
The driver is now charged with aggravated felony speeding to allude, careless and reckless driving, speeding in excess of 85 mph in a 45 mph zone, passing on the double yellow line, stop sign violation and resisting and delaying an officer. The two passengers were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II substances after police found cocaine and marijuana in the vehicle.
