A young man from Charlotte who was driving drunk in the Ballantyne Area is currently being charged with a DWI after he caused a wreck early Monday morning.Charlotte Attorney

Apparently, the 31-year-old had been out from a night of drinking and was driving his BMW on Johnston Road at the time of the accident. It was not even 1:00 a.m., and the man had been driving recklessly down back roads, until he made it to Johnston.

He was travelling southbound and in the right-hand lane, and presumptively, the amount of red lights must of been too much for the reckless driver to handle, because when he got to the second light, he rear-ended a 2005 Maxima from behind. he then quickly moved to the left hand lane, and rear-ended another vehicle trying to escape his first car accident.

The second man who was rear-ended was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The first person to be rear-ended also suffered injuries, but they were minor in comparison.

The driver/defendant’s car burst into flames, and he too was transported to Carolina’s Medical Center, yet suffered no serious injuries.

He was released, and then charged with a DWI. In the event that the second driver’s life-threatening injuries result in death, then his charge will be elevated to Felony DWI. According to the North Carolina state laws, anyone who has seriously injured or even killed another with their reckless driving and has a high BAC level is ultimately going to be initially convicted of a Felony DWI.

There is no doubt that alcohol and reckless driving were the reason for this double-car accident.
