A 19-year-old in Thomasville, NC is facing several charges after causing a serious accident. The accident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. early last week near Fisher Ferry and Denton Road. The 19-year-old crashed his vehicle into another vehicle that was making a left turn onto Fisher Ferry Road. The 19-year-old failed to yield proper right of way to the vehicle he hit.
The driver of the victim vehicle remained trapped in her vehicle after the collision. She had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter. She was initially listed in critical condition but has upgraded to serious condition. There was also an 11 month old baby in the car that was hit. The baby did not suffer any injuries in the accident.
The 19-year-old offender was taken to the hospital by ambulance but was considered to be in stable condition. He has been charged with DWI, failure to yield right of way and not wearing a seatbelt.
