In North Carolina, law enforcement agencies across the state are conducting a campaign referred to as Operation Slow Down. This lasted a week, the goal of the campaign being to crack down on speeding drivers.
A total of 13,667 speeding tickets and 685 DWI charges have been issued. In Western North Carolina alone, 30 citations have been issued for DWI along with 791 citations for speeding.
It is campaigns like this that cause many DWI charges to spring up throughout the year in North Carolina. However, when so many charges are being handed out, there is guaranteed to be a procedural slip-up here and there. This is where we come in. We act to protect the rights of those charged with a DWI, or DWI’s with aggravating factors.
