North Carolina law enforcement agencies had to run increased patrols over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. This was part of the recent “Booze It
& Lose It” campaign which ran from March 15-17. The arrest numbers have not been released; however, last year over 800 charges were issued during the campaign.
Police departments around the state of North Carolina have also revealed one of their newest tools for processing DWI’s. This is know as the BATmobile; and no, it does not contain Christian Bale or some other form of Batman.
The BATmobile is a forty foot long vehicle that includes two magistrate stations, a full officer, and surveillance cameras. Further, it includes six areas for officers to administer breath-tests. So, in other words, this is a drunk drivers worst nightmare, just as Batman is the worst nightmare of a fictional street thug.
