A North Carolina deputy has been charged with DWI after an incident that occurred in Onslow County. The deputy was employed by neighboring Pender County. This infraction took place when law enforcement became aware that a deputy was driving erratically on the roads after neighbors called 911. The deputy was driving in a marked patrol car on U.S. 17.
After the local police had received several calls about the erratically driving deputy, he struck another vehicle. Thereafter, the deputy was taken to the hospital, the extent of his injuries, however, are unknown. The man is being charged with DWI, failing to reduce speed to avoid colliding with a vehicle and reckless driving. Further, according to the report, he will not be returning to work at Pender County where he has worked since 2009.
