A family has forgiven a woman convicted of killing an occupant in a tragic DWI accident, and the family’s testimony has lightened the sentence for the wrongdoer. The accident took place on the offender’s 21st birthday, and she was described as being extremely intoxicated at the scene by witnesses who were there.
The victim’s family has agreed to a deal as an act of forgiveness, after the woman pleaded guilty to felony death by motor vehicle and DWI. The young lady will serve six months in jail and thirty-six months on probation. This is much lighter than the sentences that many DWI offenders with similar charges receive.
