The northbound lane of I-77 in Charlotte, North Carolina was forced to be closed after an accident that occurred in the early morning hours last Monday. The vehicle
was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of I-77. Motorists reported the activity to authorities, however police could not respond in time to prevent the accident.
The vehicle in question was traveling the wrong way, hit another vehicle on the left side, and sent that vehicle spinning. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Further, the driver of the southbound vehicle was found in a wooded area off the road sitting in his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and police say that charges are pending. Police are determining whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
