Jacksonville, North Carolina police set up a checkpoint this weekend on N.C. 24 near the intersection of Holcomb Boulevard. The operation
took place from late Friday evening to the early hours of Saturday morning. Other departments in the area were called in to assist Jacksonville with the checkpoint initiative.
During the hours the checkpoint was set up, one person was charged with DWI, and several other citations were issued. These citations include Reckless Driving, Driving While License Revoked, and other traffic citations. Further, two people were charged with drug offenses. Present at the checkpoint was a mobile breath testing facility which tested the breath of intoxicated drivers.
