The Charlotte Police Department set up at DWI Checkpoint this weekend that yielded 12 DWI charges, along with a slew of other arrests and citations.Police officer conducting sobriety test

The Mecklenburg Police Department had prepared this particular checkpoint on the 1700 block of The Plaza. They began at 11:00 p.m., and continued late into the night until around 3:30 a.m.

Specifically, not only where many people docketed for driving while impaired, but many other citations were dulled out, including:

” Twelve DWIs, three NOLs( no operator’s license), four driving while licensed revoked, two under age-possession of alcohol charged, three open container charges, and one drug charge, 17 charged for tag citations, one seat-belt charge, and lastly, one charge for an outstanding larceny warrant,” according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg list of citations reported.

The Mecklenburg Police Department was assisted by the Matthews, Mint Hill, and Pineville Police Department, as well as the County’s ABC Law Enforcement.
