A young man was thrown through a loop early Saturday morning when an intoxicated driver came out of nowhere and collided with the man.
The crash occurred around 6:20 Saturday morning, on the 6300 block of Old Concord Road, in northeast Charlotte.
According to the police report, both men were travelling down the same road, at the same time, as the defendant swerved out of his lane and began to drive towards the young victim head-on.
The defendant was travelling eastbound in his f-150, and the victim was travelling westbound in his 1999 Nissan sedan.
Both men were rushed to Carolinas Medical Center; the victim currently has life-threatening injures, whereas the defendant just had some minor cuts and bruises.
The BAC level of the defendant has not yet been released, but the police know that it was the main contributing factor in the accident.
Thusly, he will be charged with DWI, Felony DWI for Serious Injury to Another, and Improper Passing of a Vehicle.
