A Cape Carteret woman has been charged with DWI after an accident, which injured her and the four children in the car. The woman lost control of the van she was driving, and flipped it several times across the highway, finally coming to a stop in a parking lot.
The four children in the vehicle were all injured, and two of them were critically injured. One of the children was thrown out of the van, and ultimately became stuck under the overturned vehicle. All of the children were under the age of 3 years old.
The mother was injured; however she was able to walk away without being taken to the hospital. Along with the DWI charge, she is likely to face additional charges with regard to the injuries of her children.
