A Charlotte, North Carolina man has been charged with DWI, among other charges, after a fatal collision that occurred on Brookshire Boulevard near Interstate 85. The man was allegedly speeding while intoxicated, when he rear-ended another vehicle causing both cars to cross over into the oncoming traffic lane. When they crossed over the median, two other vehicles collided with them.

One man was killed in the accident, while two others were injured and transported to the hospital. Thereafter I-85 was closed off for a few hours in order for police to complete their investigation. The man who allegedly caused the accident has been charged with DWI, driving while license is revoked, reckless driving, and involuntary manslaughter.
