A police officer from Asheville was recently arrested for DWI. It is unknown what the exact circumstances were that led to his arrest at this time. What is known is that the officer was a deputy with the Buncombe County Sherriff’s Office. The arrest happened earlier this week at a hospital. It is unknown how the officer ended up in the hospital, but he was officially arrested for DWI at the hospital.
The deputy has also been fired as a result. The deputy who was arrested is not the only officer from that department to be arrested. Just two weeks ago another deputy from that department was arrested for DWI while he was off-duty. That deputy was suspended from his job, likely awaiting the outcome of his DWI charge or an internal investigation.
