Charlotte Police were out in full force on Friday night. According to authorities, officers set up a DWI checkpoint and arrested 13 people for driving under the influence.
Officers set up a DWI checkpoint at the intersection of Freedom Dr. and Camp Greene St. located in West Charlotte.
Officers also issued other various citations at the checkpoint such as failure to wear a seat belt. More than 120 violations were issued in total of which 27 stemmed from alcohol or drug related crimes.
Officers with the Cornelius Police Department also assisted Charlotte Police in administering the checkpoint.
