Law enforcement agencies in Guilford County teamed up to set up a DWI checkpoint last Friday night. The checkpoint was set up in Greensboro, NC and was operated between 11pm and 3am. There were several officers at the checkpoint from several different agencies, including the High Point Police, Greensboro Police, Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, UNCG Police and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
During the checkpoint police arrested 11 people for DWI. Additionally 107 other traffic citations were issued and 9 drug charges. The police also had their mobile DWI bus at the site, which has stations for police to conduct breathalyzer tests and complete paperwork during the checkpoint. A magistrate was also on site to assist.
