Law enforcement in Greenville, NC set up a DWI checkpoint last weekend in an effort to deter intoxicated drivers. The checkpoint was set up on 5th Street.   Police in that area have already set up several other checkpoint over the past couple months and are planning to set up more over the summer.  The location for the checkpoints keeps moving so drivers won’t know where to expect them at.

During this last checkpoint police issued 36 citations. The checkpoint was set up from 10pm until 2 am.  The Greenville Police Department also received assistance from the Pitt County Sherriff’s Office at the checkpoint.
