Evidence was in the process of being presented in a double Onslow County murder trial, regarding an intoxicated driver.  The majority of the day, however, was spent questioning potential jury members, as attorneys had to choose twelve out of a jury pool of fifty.  Eight women and four men were ultimately selected to sit on the jury to decide the case.

After the selection of the jury took place, the prosecution elicited his opening statement; however, the defense did not provide an opening statement at this time.  A paramedic was called to testify on the stand as to what was at the scene of the accident, and he was the first witness.

The defendant is facing charges of DWI, felony death by motor vehicle, felony serious bodily injury by vehicle, felony hit and run causing serious injury, failing to give aid to passengers, failing to report an accident and two counts of second-degree murder.  The trial is expected to last several days.
