Last Sunday, a man from Monroe was on the way home from church when he was hit in his family’s sedan head-on by a drunken driver in a Dodge Pickup truck.two-car-accident

The victim was only41 years old and a husband and father of three.

The driver of the Dodge Pickup was a 29-year-old who had over 20 arrests under his belt. When the police arrived to the scene of the crime, the defendant and his passenger were both found unconscious, and not wearing their seatbelts.

Specifically, the defendant had six prior DWI convictions. Moreover, some of the defendants other arrests include: breaking and entering, larceny, communicating threats, stalking a female, false imprisonment; all within the past 11 years. He additionally has pending charges in an unrelated mater for felony child abuse causing serious bodily injury.

The defendant is thusly being charged with not only a DWI, but driving with a revoked license, speeding to evade arrest, felony death by motor vehicle, and second degree murder charges.
