The mayor of Waxhaw, NC was recently arrested for DWI. The arrest occurred after police stopped her vehicle on NC Highway 16 in the early morning hours this past Monday. The police allege she crossed the center line of the road several times and that her driving was erratic.
This will be her second DWI charge within 5 years. Her last DWI charge was in 2008 but she had it expunged from her record. It is unknown how intoxicated she was at the time of the incident at this time. She was elected to office in 2007 with her term ending in 2015.
