A woman, who wrecked her vehicle, and thereafter received a DWI has made her first appearance in court.  The woman injured four young children, who were in the car at the time of the accident, which took place on April 3rd in Carteret County, North Carolina.  Two of these children were critically injured.

The woman was released on bond, but several conditions were attached to her released including a prohibition on operating a motor vehicle, and traveling outside of the immediate area.  The woman is also being electronically monitored.  She is being charged with two counts of felony serious injury by motor vehicle.

Terrible things can happen when one decides to get behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming alcohol.  And, these charges can be greatly exacerbated when children are involved.
